Approved by China’s Ministry of Education in August,1998,Guangxi Metallurgical Engineering College, Liuzhou Engineering college, Liuzhou Electromechanical College, Liuzhou Workers’ College and Liuzhou Educational College have merged and become Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College. In August,2001,approved by the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Liuzhou, the college merged another three schools into one---liuzhou Engeering school , Liuzhou Machinery Engineering school, and Liuzhou Machinery Engineering skilled workers’ School.
Situated in Livzhou, a heavy industrial city in Guangxi,and built by the side of mountains, the college campus boasts about it beautiful surroundings, attractive scenery, convenient transportation and away from city noises, It is an ideal place for living and study.
The college owns an area of 500 mu (equal to 83 acres of land) 54 million Yuan(RMB) worth of fixed assets, 22 million Yuan(RMB)worth of teaching equipment and 360 thousand books and reference materials. There are altogether 568 teaching and administrative staff with over 10,000 students in 9 teaching departments:Economics Management Department, Computer Information Engineering Department, Electronic and Electric Engineering Department, Electromechanical Engineering Department, Art Designing Department, Humanities and Social Studies Department, English Department, Music Department and Basic Courses Department.
The college is the base for cultivating and training engineering technical personnel with higher education, checking on senior mechanic and technicians, promoting new technology and reeducating workers, and teacher’s continuous education. It is one of the vocational & technical colleges with perfect experiment and practice conditions in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
